Welcome to Libri Aperti (Open Books)!

The Libri Aperti (open books) project aims to create and build pupils' books for Italian Public School, as alternatives to those books that are published by Italian Editors. The school books of Libri Aperti are available to all, and are all free ("a matter of liberty, not price").

School books must be excellent both in content and in appearance, and today we can have them all, thanks to distributed collaboration and to a software for typesetting, which is free and available to all of us called TeX, and its relevant interface LaTeX.

We can do it!

By separating competences between those who write the content and those who prepare the content for the typesetting software, we are really able to write school books.

Would you like to contribute?

All books are written using voluntary commitment. If you want to give your contribution, you are welcome. It does not matter whether you are not fluent using a computer, or you do not know above-mentioned computer tools: if you are a talented concept conveyor, you are found of some topic and are a good writer, you can write contents of books. Instead, if you are a good computer user, and know LaTeX or other relevant software tools, you can format the book contents. Reviewers and proofreaders are needed, as well.

The best way you can contribute is to devote some time to us. You can find more details here.

Note for foreign visitors

Actually the translation of this website is not complete, due to the fact that all spare time is mainly devoted to my family, and then to the project. If you have some question, you can find contact addresses here.
